Building on the unique layout of Staten Island's historic Seaview Hospital and the expansive surrounding forest landscape, this design incorporates restoration, nature, new architecture and uses, and a multi-layered program that promotes well being and a healthy lifestyle. 

 

Working with ARCHI-TECTONICS NYC, LLC, it was decided that the village center would be formed by the historic pavilion buildings. New residences- inspired by the existing typologies and in converted buildings- surround the core and have easy access through car-free, park-like environment. A meandering ribbon of various terraced housing forms a natural transition towards the green space surrounding the site.
