SImagines - Community Planning Workshops

simagines various maps.jpeg

Working with our community planning workshops to assess needs, prioritize issues, and develop recommendations and implementation strategies for coastal neighborhoods of the borough of Staten Island in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy was vital. Areas of recommendations included: coastal protection, neighborhood infrastructure and transportation, site planning and housing design, quality of life, amenities and other neighborhood improvements; and reconstruction programs and assistance.

Staten Island Councilman James Oddo stated, "Many homeowners affected by the storm have many questions that can only be answered by trained local architects. This program will help Staten Islanders get those questions answered quickly as they make the important decision on whether and how to rebuild." (Staten Island Advance, 2012)
