An underutilized, semi-industrial storage facility is transformed into a mixed use contractor’s headquarters and non-profit educational hub for training neighborhood residents in the construction arts and related skills. Nearing completion, Stapleton Fabrication Arts will be an 8,500 square feet facility that brings local neighborhood youngsters and adults together with skilled construction trades people in a hands-on, real world, learning environment that rewards both teacher and student.

 

Sustainability and environmental responsibility are cornerstones of the design and execution of the facility and its systems – components that can then be brought into the hands-on classroom.
